October 1916 - Canadian forces begin to arrive at Vimy Ridge to relieve the British soldiers there. This allowed the British stationed there to regroup with the main British forces.
December 1916 - All four Canadian divisions that made up the Canadian Corps are now stationed at Vimy. There are over 100,000 Canadian troops now there.
March 1, 1917 - The 4th Canadian Division launches a raid against German forces. 687 Canadians die in the raid.
April 1-8, 1917 - Over 1 million artillery rounds are fired in the week preceding the battle. Many German trenches are destroyed.
April 9, 1917 - The battle begins, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd divisions all complete their objectives and manage to capture many areas, and push back the Germans. The 4th division succeeds in its objective, but suffers massive losses, 1 in 4 attacking soldiers in the 4th division die in this attack.
April 10, 1917 - The Canadians attack the remaining German's, and manage to capture Vimy Ridge.
April 12, 1917 - Canadian forces attack German's stationed at the Pimple, a large hill near the ridge. They capture it with ease, and push further to a village called Givenchy-en-Gohelle. All German's in the village withdraw and Canada officially wins the battle of Vimy Ridge.
